Looking good on paper

Your resume or CV must represent the way you want a potential employer to see you, and the value you would bring to their business. Your cover letter needs to be made specific to the position you are applying for, and needs to demonstrate how you fit the selection criteria outlined in a job advertisement.

Here are some tips on creating resumes and cover letters:

  • Try to keep your resume clear and concise
  • Prioritize the most important information
  • Avoid paragraphs, write in point form
  • Your education and work experience should be in reverse chronological order
  • Create a clear and easy to follow design
  • Do not include information that cannot be supported or verified
