Dr. Anila Sadananda, Student Services Manager, Sydney
I began my academic life when I joined the faculty of International studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University at New Delhi, India, after being awarded a PhD in Russian literature from the Moscow State University, Russia.
My interest in international and intercultural aspects of academic life expanded after I joined the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in 1985.
I am lucky to find myself at Carrick in a role that has continuity with the past roles and at the same time presents newer opportunities and challenges. The students come here early on in life and are well placed to learn a lot and at great speed. It is a pleasure to see our graduates doing well in walks of life and outshining students from the competing institutes.
As a Student Services Manager and counsellor my role helps students redefine their goals in a new learning environment and working with them when students encounter challenges.
Every student when facing challenges or difficulty has a unique story, the solutions that emerge are creative and are great learning experiences for me and especially the student involved.
The future of Carrick is with the future of its students. Carrick combines good practices with great ethical values, there is a huge potential for growth and I am delighted to be a part of this process.
