  Students can apply for a working permit online from the DIAC website: www.immi.gov.au
  
  Who can use this electronic form?
  If you are a student, you may only submit your application using this electronic form if you:

  • are in Australia; and
  • hold a valid 570-576 subclass student visa that is subject to condition 8101(no work); and
  • have an electronic confirmation of enrolment for the course you wish to undertake (unless you are an AusAID, Defence sponsored or secondary school exchange student); and
  • are applying after you have commenced that course.

  Who cannot use this electronic form?
  If you hold a subclass 560, 562 or 563 visa and you wish to apply for permission to work, then you cannot apply over the Internet. You should apply on the paper form 157P Application for a student visa with permission to work, which is downloadable from the DIAC website.
