Mikyung studied Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (Patisserie)
"Everyone has their dreams, mine is becoming a great pastry chef. I am Mikyung Kim, from Korea. I have been studying Patisserie at Carrick since September, 2007. Like many students at the beginning, I was confused and frustrated about getting a job, because I had no experience working in the kitchen and English is my second language.
Fortunately, Carrick has the Recruitment and Training Services Department, so I did apply for a job like other students did. That's how I met Natalie Lee, one of the job placement officers at Carrick Recruitment and Training Services Department.
First step was Natalie adjusted my resume to fulfill what the industry required, and gave me various useful interview skills before putting me on interview at Moana French Bakery in Rozelle.
Furthermore, she advised me that the best way to advance my career in hospitality industry. Also whenever I got depressed "don't worry Mikyung you'll be fine" Natalie said, these words really help me through refreshing myself and be motivated to step forward. I appreciate Natalie for making every effort on helping me throughout.
I am still working at Moana French Bakery as an assistant pastry chef, and enjoy being what I am now.
If anyone is thinking of becoming chef, I strongly recommend joining the assistance of Carrick's Recruitment and Training Services Department."
