Entry requirements for domestic students

Entry requirements for Vocational Education courses

To gain entry into vocational courses local students must meet one of the following entry requirements:

  • Minimum successful completion of the Australian Year 11, or recognised equivalent internationally, or through relevant work experience that demonstrates the ability to succeed in the chosen discipline. 
  • Applicants must demonstrate their competence in English literacy and numeracy
  • Entry into Diploma courses requires successful completion of Year 12 or Australian equivalent
  • Selection is not based purely on academic performance. Relevant work experience, work samples will be considered
  • Students aged 18 years or more must demonstrate an ability to undertake the course through interview

Entry requirements for Carrick Higher Education degrees

To gain entry into Higher Education degrees courses local students must meet one of the following entry requirements:

  • Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Certificate IV or equivalent qualification
  • Mature age entry (aged 21 years or more) for applicants who can demonstrate an ability to undertake the course and have relevant work experience in the chosen area of study
