Alejandro Saravia Brings a Taste of Peru to Carrick

Carrick Sydney in conjunction with Carrick Commercial Cookery graduate Alejandro Saravia hosted a night of Peruvian flavours on Wednesday, 23 September 2009, in Sydney.  Saravia, originally from Peru, introduced media and Carrick partners to Peruvian Andean cuisine with the help of Carrick teachers and current students.

The event held at the Carrick Sydney's commercial kitchens, involved a cooking demonstration by Saravia and gave invited guests the opportunity to taste Peruvian dishes and experience first hand how the training at Carrick develops local and overseas talent.  Alejandro is passionate about bringing Peruvian flavours to Australia and gives credit to the training he received at Carrick to bring him closer to his goal.

Saravia said "I much appreciate Carrick's support, to continue helping me in this "A taste of Peruvian Andean flavours" and for being part of the introduction of a new style of cuisine in Sydney's food business."

The event at Carrick was a prelude to Saravia's "A taste of Peruvian Andean" flavours which is a five course modern Peruvian Andean Cuisine dinner matched with Australian wines which Carrick was proudly sponsoring.

See Alejandro’s story in the Alumni Student Success section.
