Carrick Sydney’s Spring Racing Fever
Spring racing fever hit Carrick Sydney in November in a hair extravaganza created by Carrick Hair Design.
Carrick’s Certificate IV hairdressing students put on their first spring racing themed show in front of industry professionals and Carrick partners to showcase their hairdressing skills.
The event was created to demonstrate their technical and creative skills to an industry audience as a way to gain a foot in the door as a session stylist.
Students had eight weeks to prepare and design complete looks within the theme, ‘A Day at the Races’. Students showcased long hair design, colour, creative cutting and make up in the form of elaborately styled jockeys, celebrities, media and ‘fashion in the field contestants.
As a result industry magazine INSTYLE will be working further with Carrick to promote our services, Careers Advisors of Kambala, Joeys and Ravenswood schools in New South Wales and hairdressing salon, De Lorenzo will also be working closely with Carrick.
Prizes were given to the top three designs, generously donated by INSTYLE Magazine, De Lorenzo & Indola.
Hospitality and events students ensured the event ran smoothly by preparing canapés, serving drinks and assisting with event logistics. The event was a huge success because of the hard work and combined effort of the Sydney Carrick students.
